A Program for EMA Companies, State/Regional Authorities & Industry Groups

Aimed at introducing overseas qualified engineers to the norms of the Australian workplace and culture, the program has been developed in consultation with the engineering profession and includes 16 days of face-to-face and on-line coursework delving into:

  • Australian Engineering Code of Ethics, case studies and scenarios
  • Legislation and Safety in the Australian workplace
  • Business communications
  • Business report writing
  • Project Management, and
  • The Warren Centre PPIR Protocol

All delivered within a project management context and cultural diversity framework.

It provides engineers with case studies, scenarios and work-based activities to integrate their professional development into their everyday work.  It also familiarises overseas qualified engineers with the norms of the Australian workplace and culture including OHSE and safety to ensure a smooth transition into the workforce and longevity in the profession.

Whilst the core modules of the program are based on a lengthy consultative basis with the profession and employer groups, each organisation is different.  Alterations to the basic model of the program can be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
