The Professional Year in Engineering
Engineering Education Australia, a wholly owned subsidiary of Engineers Australia offers the only government specified Professional Year in Engineering.
About the PYear Program
The PYear is a 12 month job-preparedness program aimed at equipping participants with the professional skills needed for a successful career in the Australian Engineering workforce; in turn helping to address the engineering skills shortage in Australia.
Designed to enhance the participant's ability to obtain employment in his or her chosen engineering discipline through practical training and workshops in areas such as communication, as well as access to learning and career development tools and methods, the program includes an invaluable (unpaid) engineering work placement.
Participant Eligibility
There are two visa streams eligible for the PYear Program.
Australian Citizens and Permenant Residents are also eligible for this program.
Payment Options

From 1st July 2009 a new fee structure will be introduced for Professional Year.
All applications received for Professional Year programs commencing after 31st July will have the following options available to them.
- Option One - Full Payment on Application ($12,950.00)
- Option Two - Deposit with Application ($13,000.00)
- Option Three - 2 Installments over 4 months ($13,500.00) - contact Professional Year in Engineering for more info.
